Caregiver Qualifications

ABC Nannies & Domestics, Inc. specializes in representing only the highest quality caregivers available. Our caregivers are professional, responsible, kind and engaging. All caregivers are carefully screened, personally interviewed, and fully vetted by our trained staff.

We welcome caregivers who meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional nanny, teaching and/or daycare experience
  • Strong professional and personal references
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Keen understanding of Child Development and/or Education
  • At least 18 years old and a high school graduate
  • Legal to work in the United States
  • Non-smoker
  • Able to make commitment of at least a year (long-term nannies only)
  • Infant Care Specialists and Postpartum Doulas must have the appropriate training and/or certifications

Prior to working with our agency, all caregivers must also undergo a comprehensive background check that includes:

  • Social Security Trace
  • Colorado Statewide Arrest Record (CBI)
  • County Level Court Records
  • Driver’s History/Motor Vehicles Record
  • National Criminal Database
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • OFAC / Office of Foreign Asset Control (Homeland Security)
