Ginger Mylander Swift, Owner & CEO
ABC Nannies would be nothing without the vision, passion and fortitude of our founder—Ginger Swift. Ginger started ABC Nannies in 1994 after working through college (BS in Psychology) as a part-time and summer nanny, and working several years in sales, marketing and recruiting. Although successful in the corporate world, Ginger wanted to do more with her talents. She wanted to truly make a difference, and expertly matching families with kind and trustworthy nannies to care for their children was just the ticket! Over the years Ginger, and her team, have taken ABC Nannies from a small, one-woman business to the largest nanny placement agency in Colorado. And of course, while working full-time growing her business, Ginger relied on the support of several experienced nannies to care for her two children—nannies she is still close to today. When not working on growing ABC Nannies, Ginger focuses her time and expertise on improving the business practices of in-home placement agencies across the country as the acting President of the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies (APNA) and a former board member of the International Nanny Association (INA).
Jami Dennis, Owner and President
Originally from the plains of Eastern Colorado/Western Nebraska, this busy working mom leads her business with the same core values that guided Midwest upbringing: integrity, a strong work ethic, a focus on quality and the ability to laugh when life gets tough. Over the past decade, ABC Nannies has continued to grow and thrive under her direction. Providing the highest quality customer service, placing only the best nannies and household staff, and listening – genuinely listening – to the needs of families and household professionals is what drives Jami and her staff. In addition to her professional experience as a professional recruiter and nanny, Jami and her husband also employ a fantastic nanny (from ABC of course!) to care for their two young children. There is no doubt that Jami’s 15+ years of professional experience in the in-home industry, her personal experience as a mother and nanny employer, as well as her education (BA and MA from University of Colorado…go Buffs!) make her the perfect person to steer ABC Nannies, as President and owner, into the next 20 years. And in her spare time, Jami also enjoys giving back to the in-home nanny and domestic placement industry as whole; she has served on the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies (APNA) Board of Directors since 2009 and is currently the acting Vice President.
Brittany Johnson, Long-term Placement Director
As the friendliest (and possibly the most energetic) member of the ABC Nannies’ placement team, Brittany comes to our agency 9+ years of customer service, recruiting and networking experience under her belt. Although this ray of sunshine originally hails from Pennsylvania, Brittany has called Colorado home for the past eight years. She attended Colorado State University where she got her BA in Communication Studies. While pursuing her educational goals in Fort Collins, she worked for the CSU Alumni Office and did marketing for a local Colorado company. Upon graduating, she began her professional career working as a technical recruiter in Denver. While recruiting was a great match for her professionally, Brittany chose to put her skills to work in an area nearer and dearer to her heart: nanny and domestic placements. A former babysitter and part-time nanny, Brittany know just how important her job here is…and she loves it. Positive, upbeat and always eager to help, there is no doubt Brittany’s background—both personally and professionally— helps her to ensure the needs of our nannies and the families are met.
Mary Sexton, Long-term Placement Consultant
The first time we met Mary, we knew she’d be the perfect addition to our staff. This native of Chicago is as thoughtful as she is knowledgable, as capable as she is kind, as helpful as she is resourceful. In addition to a successful 10-year career as a nanny and household manager, and a B.A. in Communication and Human Resource Development from Northeastern Illinois University, Mary also has exceptional recruiting and staffing experience. In 2012, Mary helped her sister launch Aretê Event Staffing. Acting as the Talent and Recruiting Director, this little staffing company that could grew 800% in it’s first year. And to no one’s surprise…Mary is a great judge of character and a rockstar recruiter! She also has a huge heart, not only for families and children, but also those who spend their lives caring for them. She has been there. She understands. And our candidates can trust she will be a professional, helpful, and knowledgable advocate during their job search and a supportive resource beyond. And when Mary isn’t helping others land their dream jobs, you can bet she’s out discovering Denver or spending time with her family, including four sisters and a brother, probably with a glass of wine in hand!
Liz Zasowski, Temporary Placement Consultant
A proud Colorado native and a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (go Vols!) we were thrilled to welcome Liz to the ABC family! Even though Tennessee has been her home the past four years, she is happy to be back in her home state where her family resides and we are sure happy to have her! Liz has a strong background in customer service, nannying and extensive experience working with those with special needs. She received her bachelors of education degree in Therapeutic Recreation and upon graduating, she wanted to put her communication skills to use in something she is passionate about: helping nannies and families. Day in and day out, Liz works closely our short-term nannies and families, staffing full-time, part-time and babysitting assignments from 4-40+ hours per week. In addition, she is spearheading our Special Events Childcare Division–if you need care for a wedding, event, conference or corporate function Liz is your gal! It’s Liz’s attention to detail, organization, go-getter attitude, warm smile and subtle Tennessee charm that have made her a quick favorite among our families and our nannies…okay, and us too!
Jessica Kier, Corporate Backup Care Coordinator
With a calm, friendly disposition and a strong mid-West work ethic (go Big Red!), we are thrilled to have Jessica coordinating our ever-growing Corporate Backup Care Department. As our Backup Care Coordinator, Jessica works directly with families in need of emergency and/or backup childcare assisting them when their regular childcare arrangements fall through. She also coordinates and manages our pre-screened, experienced nannies who support them. A mother of two school age children, Jessica understands the importance of high-quality childcare, whether the nanny is in a family’s home a day, a week or a month. Like all of our ABC gals, she comes to ABC Nannies with years of customer service experience and a background in Education. We are confident that her experience, both personal and professional, have made her an ideal selection for this important position. Hannah Vogel, Placement Assistant
Hannah is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and grew up the middle child in a big family. She earned a B.A degree in English from Gordon College in Massachusetts, especially enjoying American Literature and creative writing. Hannah loved living the coastal life, but left beautiful New England in 2014 to start a new adventure in sunny Colorado. She comes to us with a background in human resources and administration, and has worked in the staffing industry since 2014. She also enjoyed working as a nanny and babysitter throughout her high school and college years. And thus, her role at ABC is a natural fit for her background and her many, many talents. Daily, you can find Hannah helping our clients, candidates and her teammates in any way she is able–we love her can-do attitude and her never-ending willingness to help! In her free time, Hannah enjoys music, running, reading, hiking and cooking.
